Sticking It To The System…In Skirts

There isn’t really a legal spin on this story (unless you take note that changes to the law are possible as a result of social pressure!) but I certainly enjoyed it and wanted to share.

Students at Isca Academy in Exeter were not allowed to wear shorts during the recent heatwave and when they complained to the headteacher she jokingly replied that they could wear skirts instead.

Well the lads took the message to heart and the very next day a group of them turned up in skirts borrowed from friends and sisters.

Any initial embarrassment was soon overshadowed by red-faced school administrators as the story spread like a summer wildfire and was soon attracting national media attention.

The school soon conceded that from next year boys would be allowed to wear shorts but in a rather desperate attempt to save face said that the boys could not do so right now because it would not be fair on parents.

One regressive YouTube channel described this as an example of the degeneracy prevalent in Britain’s youth. To that I would only say that anything that annoys the conservative far-right cannot be a bad things and perhaps this generation is more prepared to stand up for their rights than they are given credit for.
